Blueberries
I got some really great blueberries the other day. The best I ever had were wild and purchased at a roadside stand in Maine on our way home from the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockport. Wild blueberries are usually much smaller than this, but so delicious.
According to The World's Healthiest Foods, blueberries are great for your eyes and stomach, and are packed with antioxidants. For more information on heath benefits, click here.
Some of my favorite ways to enjoy blueberries are:
- On Greek yogurt, with Agave and walnuts
- On salad (I had a great one the other night with romaine, cucumber, tomato, marinated chicken breast, feta, and sliced almonds)
- On steel cut oats or in cold cereal
- In buckwheat pancakes
- In a smoothie with protein powder and soy milk
- In Heidi Swanson's crisp recipe
- Like I just ate them... naked (the blueberries, not me) in a bowl after I took this picture
I'm all about blueberries with banana, so I think I'm going to try this recipe soon. I'll post pics and give a review if it turns out well.
What's your favorite way to eat blueberries?

Hi there! You found Life Less Plastic while looking for your own blog and I found you through your comment on Life Less Plastic. Living with less stuff altogether is pretty much the goal of my life. But for some reason, even though I don't buy any new plastic, and we rarely buy new things, our house always seems full of junk!
Do you have tips for cutting the clutter? I blog at Fake Plastic Fish (http://www.fakeplasticfish.com) about ways to live with less plastic, and I also am a BlogHer guest editor in the green category. In July, I'll be blogging about clutter, and I'd love your input or a guest post from you.
Feel free to email me directly at beth[at]fakeplasticfish[dot]com.
I would love to chat with you about clutter, and I'd be happy to guest post! I'll email you soon. :)
Blueberry compote, baby! An easy way to impress guests, served over ice cream or lemon cake.
