Wei of Chocolate

This is not just your ordinary chocolate. This is an experience. Wei of Chocolatepronounced "way", meaning "transformative action") is no joke.

Chocolate as meditation! What's better than that? From their website:

Wei of Chocolate's lovely CEO and Chocolatier Lisa Reinhart generously sent me several samples to try:
A rice paper bag filled with assorted dark chocolates: Daily Gratitude (a chai flavor), Daily Love (chili flavor) and Cafe Wei (espresso flavor).
Pure Joy dark chocolate - smooth 70% cacao organic dark chocolate with Lotus WeiTM
flower elixirs and organic essential oils that awaken clarity and wisdom.

Wei Dark chocolate - rich, plain 70% cacao organic dark chocolate enhanced with Lotus WeiTM flower elixirs to promote joy, peace and balance.

Ok... down to the nitty gritty. You want to know how it tastes, don't you?

Let me break it down:

LOVED Wei Dark chocolate
Liked Daily Love (WOW it was spicy!) and Daily Gratitude
Didn't like Pure Joy or Cafe Wei :(

The mister, on the other hand, loved them ALL! He's a guy who will always order a double espresso, so Cafe Wei was way more appreciated by him.

This is GOOD chocolate. It's excellent quality, organic, fair trade and vegan. It's 2 grams of carbs and 30 calories per piece (I know!). I should also say that this is not something you grab a handful of. It's something you savor and appreciate. It makes you stop what you're doing and focus on the flavors. It's nice to shift your focus for a few minutes, especially during a stressful day. In that respect, I believe Wei of Chocolate has accomplished their goal.

I appreciate the effort that went into finding spices and essences to pair with their chocolate, and I appreciate the care taken to be sure that the product is organic, vegan and fair trade.
